Who we are

Laurence Childs

3 years moving from Data Network Technician to Network Manager at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham.

3 years as Internet and Network Security Manager at Presence Ltd in Nottingham. Providing pre sales, post sales technical support. Systems design, installation, commission and support.

6 years as IT Manager and the Head of IT for the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply in Stamford. Managed the IT for a Global organisation turning over £15 million plus with sites in the UK, Australia, South Africa and Hong Kong.

Laurence has been involved in many major IT projects (Infrastructure replacement both LAN and WAN, server and user environment improvement rollouts) from conception to implementation and acceptance, on time and within budget.

Laurence has in depth, practical experience in the following; System analysis, Process and procedure design and management, Designing, implementing and commissioning user and system environments, Managing system and service support and its associated teams, Project management, Commercial supplier and contract management and Man management.

Mark Brown

Mark Brown
Mark has a breadth of corporate and commercial knowledge acquired from 35 years’ experience in a wide variety of businesses and industries.

In addition to his day to day role, Mark’s key focus is directing strategy towards the profitable growth of the Jalapeno Busioness Services and ensuring that the operating objectives and standards are owned, understood and managed by the whole team at JBS.

Mark is also responsible for input in to marketing the business to existing and potential customers.

Roger Childs - RIP

24 years as a Yeoman of Signals with the British Army.

17 years as the head of communications for the Nottingham Health Authority and the subsequent trusts.

Roger has extensive experience in providing the expertise for the design, development and implementation of systems and services in the military, public & private sectors.

In addition many years of practical operational system/service management with an emphasis on effective service delivery and service analytics.

Roger has a thorough working knowledge of and is qualified in the following areas; System Analysis & Design, Service Performance & Evaluation, Business management, Benefits Management & Realisation, Project & Programme Management and Man Management & Effective Team Building.

Roger unfortunately passed away after a short battle with cancer on 17th March 2015

Ethan Ayling

Ethan is the latest addition to the JBS  team.

Whilst new to the role, he’s no stranger to this type of  business, having been hooked on technology from an early age, buying, repairing & rebuilding computers, phones and software since his early teens.


Jalapeno Business Services was formed with the belief that the small and medium business should benefit from access to experience and expertise that is normally available only to large corporations.
